Spanning an impressive 40′ x 40′ “L” shape, this ever-evolving model railroad layout captures the essence of the Metra Milwaukee District West Line, stretching from Chicago to Belvidere, Illinois. Construction began in 2012, but like the real railroading world, the layout is in a constant state of development, ensuring there’s always something new to discover.

With detailed scenery, operational signals, realistic train movements, and ever-expanding features, this layout isn’t just a model railroad—it’s a living, breathing tribute to the dynamic rail history of the Chicago area and beyond.
